Male Eider Duck.
Hi All.
Picture taken recently at Newburgh Aberdeenshire between showers. Full Frame. No Hide. I find if you sit quietly with an incoming tide the birds come in close. Canon 1D MK11n 300mm 2.8 lens with a 2x conv. ISO 400 1/1250 F11 -1.0EV All comments welcome.

Hi John

A nice portrait of this attractive bird. A bit big in the frame but works well as a portrait shot. Nicely exposed, good detail in the bird and a catchlight in the dark eye is very useful on dark headed birds.

cheers

A nice one, as said a shade big in the frame... but a great exposure, seems like its swimming downhill though, it may be an optical illusion, I have started using a hot shoe bubble level all the time for birds on water....

Excellent image. Catchlight makes it. Sound advice from Phil H.
