The Green Woodpecker is back in the garden
It has not been since this time last year
Trouble is it is eating vast amounts of Mealworms,
coming every morning and everning.
Canon EOS 20D, 180mm lens(on a long Release), 1/60sec F8, ISO 100
well I think it's very nice. Never had the slightest opportunity to get one of these so very jealous. Might have been inclined to up the ISO a bit to get faster shutter. Apparently the 20d is great at 400. I reckon you could give some more USm on this without affecting quality. Like it a lot.
Nice shot, good technique with the remote release.
Can't fault it as a portrait shot of this bird (had one in our garden once but never stayed around).
Maybe some softer lighting would improve the image, sounds like you will have plenty more opportunities so long as you keep forking out for the mealworms. The only thing that eats mealworms in my garden is the Starlings (the blackbirds and Dunnocks have to move in quickly if they want a protein fix.....)
