Wahkeena Creek
I decided to take a walk up there this morning to see if it was enjoying the lush conditions, too. I wasn't disappointed!

Wakeena Creek? aka, Fairy Falls?
You continue to be da man, Ned! :toast:

Marc's either the Ned Fenimore of sunsets/sunrises or you're the Marc Adamus of water.

Beautiful shot Ned. Did you go up there before work?

Lush indeed. Very nice Ned.

Very beautiful. The composition is spot on. Is that up above the bridge?

I've been back to look about eight times now, Ned. This must be the best shot ever taken of Fairy Falls not to mention one of the best waterfall shots I've seen period.

Wow.... I think I'm going to need a size 300 hat now or something.. You are all too kind.. thanks!

Jeremy, this is up above the bridge about 3/4 of a mile, maybe?

Print it big, Ned! Big, big, big, big, big!

You're killing me, Ned!!

I've never been to any of the falls you guys are shooting. How far out of Portland are they? Is there some kind of photo guide available as to their whereabouts?

Jerry

Hi Jerry... I'm sure there are guides, or I'd be happy to point you the right direction. If you know Portland, you just take I-84 East and access exits to the old highway are only a few miles outside of Troutdale. Most of the most popular falls are right long the old highway that takes you to Multnomah Falls and back out onto the Freeway. I'd say most if not all of the trails will take you to additional, less visited examples. It is a great place to spend a day. Your best productivity would be on an overcast day, even a little bit of rain doesn't hurt..

Ned, you have sold your soul to Mephistopheles! Everything is perfect in this shot of Fairy Falls. This is indeed awesome. To date, I've never shot the upper half because the far side of the falls has been barren every time I've been out there. This is the time to shoot it!

Damn Ned.......Perfection is something you know very well!!!!

and I am kicking myself now for stopping and not going farther.....but.....I will next time!!!!

Thanks for sharing

Oh yeah.. now is the time to be up there.. I'm not sure if it is the usage of the trail or what, but the best vegetation seems short-lived up there... so I recommend going soon..

Sensational shot, Ned. I may have to head up there this weekend. The colors are wonderful. Now, the Gorge or the Rose Garden? Decisions, decisions...

Cheers,

I keep coming back to this one Ned, I really think this is one of your finest waterfall images, and that's saying something. Well done.

Really sweet - I was there last week and can confirm that the conditions are incredible. This is a really beautiful angle for the falls. Perfect in every way, Ned.
