Hope this shows okay.
Taken in evening light on the Gower a few days ago. First time I`ve managed to get close enough for a shot of one of these skulkers.
Canon 20D, Sigma 500mm, Manfrotto tripod, extension tube.
A nicely caught portrait shot with lovely warm light. Definitely has that early morning or late evening feel about it. Nice and sharp, I like the nosh in the beak. Background and shadows over the bird are a tad distracting, but not enough to spoil an excellent shot.

Everytime I get close to this species I find my self sat with the light behind the bird.
In answer to where the chough was, it wasn't at Wick it was on the coastal area where the Gannets fly past in the distance.

I like this a lot.
That warm light is wonderful and the branches surrounding the bird, frame the subject superbly.
