Badger
Before i went to France a couple of weeks ago the badger had a couldnt careless attitude but since returning they are very timid and wont come out if there is any light,Luckily last night was a large bright moon and i could sit there and see what was going on without a torch,Also the badgers and fox cubs are coming out an hour later than before-very strange,2 young badgers came out first and fought over the food trying to push each other aside,1 pop of flash and they were gone,a single young returned and after a couple of minutes i rustled the grass and when he looked up i grabbed a shot, this made the badger even more wary and although came back stayed back from the food and then left,I waited 20 mins and left-back tonight,This is the first time i have used 4 flashguns-2 front and 2 for the background
Canon 20D 70-200+1.4X Manual Mode 1/100@F9 4X EX550 flashguns@Full power,1 flshgun with stofen

Nice shot Dave. You must have eaten too much garlic while you where in France! - Seriously though, have you changed your smell while you where away?

Hi Nick
Not that i know,I usually have a soak in the bath before i go to get rid of any smells i.e deodorant and use the same camo clothing that i always use,As i say the fox cubs have also changed habits and are coming out at 9.30 instead of 8-8.30 so thats dusk so difficult to get anything there, amazing what a differnce a couple of weeks make, with the badgers its like they have just developed there senses,But at least they are there and in time will get used to me and the flashguns

Hi Dave

Good shot and the flash it well utilised to give a clean, almost daylight, appearance to the image. I know these are tricky creatures to photograph so you have done well here, my only comment would be to maybe try for a lower shooting angle next time as I think that might create a more dynamic image.

Good effort all the same :toast:

cheers

Really like this Dave..... I haven't got near one of these. Shooting angle is fine for me. Nicley composed habitat shot. Congrats

A great result with that fresh green setting being particularly appealing.
Interesting to hear about how the animals have slightly changed their habits and emergence times.
Looking forward to more from this series.
