This is exactly the type of thing that can happen when I get really bored in the middle of the Nevada desert on a road that dosen't have so much as the slightest curve for fifty miles. I wouldn't suppose the Nevada State Patrol approves of such photographic experiments. This is the road on which I was once passed while driving 110.
Just a little humor.

Note: I obey all posted speed limits in areas that are not the middle of the Nevada desert on a clear day with no one on the road.
Been there done that - at night from Boise to Vegas. I pretty much tumbled out of the car at the Excalibur at 4am!! I'd been driving since about 10am the previous day when I relieved my buddy who did the initial stint from Seattle. Just south of Boise it was peddle to the metal all night to Vegas!! It was a brand new Jetta and we went down to see BattleBots in person on a whim!!! Triple digits the whole way!! It was a blast for sure!! Seeing BattleBots in person was quite cool too!!
Cool shot. I love the open roads. In Germany, 100 mph (160 kmh) is normal cruising speed on some stretches of the Autobahn. There the roads are smooth like a mirror, and you don't even notice going that speed, even in small cars. Out in the American southwest, the roads can be rough, hot, and it's not uncommon to get a tire blowout. Luckily my VW vanagon westfalia camper doesn't go much past 75 mph, which keeps me out of trouble.

My Isuzu MPG goes way down over 65 so usually I drive 65. I love this shot - however I agree, a tripod and spirit level should have been used to get the horizon even....
Ha Ha. Yeah, a tripod. The horizon tilt was actually intentional. I didn't care about technical correctness here. I usually do 80 or so out here, anything over that and I drop from 26-28mpg down to 24mpg or less.
Harald, yeah. There's a huge difference between some torn-up Nevada road and the Autobahn!
Rick - Careful for deer and things at night - that would be really messy at 100+
Marc I had a jack rabbit run out in front of me at one point and it about scared the holy you know whatty outa me!!! Another time a rat (or something about the size of a rat) ran out then hit the brakes real hard when it realized I was coming a LOT faster than it had planned!! The dang thing barely got out of the way in time!!
I got a speeding ticket for doing 64 in the 45 zone (145.00 ticket) right before the Portland airport. With so much crime in the city the police camp 2 min. from the airport on a 3 lane road to catch people that are late for their flights.... made for not the happiest pick up of wife and daughter from their trip to N. California.

Hey, uh... I think your horizon's a little tilted... This problem could have been solved with a tripod and spirit level... just my 2 cents...

Both times proved to keep me quite alert!!

I love this picture....and will drink to your good fortune
Nice work, Marc.. Driving over 100 and you still remembered to put the grad filter on. That's a true photographer!
