Hello all,
Finally a vacation! I'll be in the Cody area June 11 - 13, and then in Yellowstone June 14 -18. Maybe a couple of days around the Tetons after that. The RMNP photo contest, announced in a previous post, is sure a timley, exciting inspiration! I do have a CNP cap and window sticker, a silver Dodge truck with big mag wheels and a 25 ft Cruiser brand travel trailer. Any RMNP'ers are welcome to flag me down and grab a cup of coffee or a beer!
You'll love Cody - We do and we try to visit that area as often as possible.
The shoot-out at the Irma Hotel is fun, as well as the Cody Nite Rodeo, and the HUGE Buffalo Bill's Museum.
The last time we were there they had a mudslide on the pass in Yellowstone just inside the East Gate. Yes, people were caught in that mess - I believe that they were all ok though. The East Entrance was closed for most of the week that we were there, and we had to use the North Entrance.
Cody is great. If you're into Mexican food, make sure you try La Comida on the main drag - it's excellent. I'll second Kathy's recommenation for the Cody Nite Rodeo - our friends ride there (barrel racing and roping) so we've gone several times; it's pretty entertaining!
I know you weren't specifically looking for recommendations, but I can't resist - if you get a chance to drive the Beartooth Highway between Red Lodge, MT and Yellowstone, it's really something else.

Have a great time and I wish we were going there!
