Paint Mines Camping Spot Suggestions????

Hello,

I know a number of CNP'ers have visited Paint Mines and I could use some help.

I'd like to sleep in my truck nearby in order to shoot sunrise and avoid leaving Arvada at 3 am.

I spoke to a lady at the local office who said I can't park my truck in their lot overnight.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Answering my own post...........get a life!

I found a nude resort called Wildwood - I don't think we'll do that. On the other hand, I could just wear my camera!? There's also Cadillac Jack's campground. Of course I would really like a place to just park.

I didn't see much in the way of campgrounds when we were out there earlier this year, but I wasn't really looking for them either. Sorry, not much help...

There is a state park with a lake a little farther up. I've fished there a couple times and seem to remember a campground on one end. I think its Rawah.

Mel-

The state park Mel is referring to is Ramah, and it's not too far away. You may be able to truck-camp there.
There really isn't much in the way of campgrounds in that end of the county.
