I was in Japan in May and finally got around to posting some pics. I didn't spend too much time taking photos, but I did get over to Mt. Fuji and saw some impressive waterfalls. My geography skills aren't too good, but I'm pretty sure the Rocky Mountains run through Japan . So I thought I'd post a link here.
Nice stuff, Grant. That first shot of Mt. Fuji with the flowers is great; I also like the aerial shot of the ocean. I've been there a half dozen times or so, but rarely get to see Mt. Fuji so clearly. It's an impressive site to see it clearly top to bottom.
Grant, nice collection. How hard is it to get to that waterfall?
I was in Japan at the start of last April and caught the cherry blossoms in Kyoto & Osaka, but. It was a little too early for anything to be growing at Mt. Fuji, but I did get some shots of it reflecting in one of the lakes.
Tony, the warerfalls are all short walks from bus stops or parking lots. Two were near Mt. Fuji and the other to were in Nikko National Park. All of the images were actually taken from buidlings or walkways. So they're definitely not out in the wild. You don't have a whole lot of choice in the compositions, since you have to stay on the walkways. But the waterfalls are still very impressive.
