Saw on a another forum that they added some new hi res satellite imagery to Google Earth. I know there are more than a few GE users on this site.

Looks like a nice long, narrow swath of the Front Range from a little NW of Colorado Springs to just north of Trail Ridge Road, as well as a patch that includes the Black Canyon of the Gunnison!

The wild part this time is that they are hi res images shot in the winter as opposed to their normal spring stuff. Kinda cool seeing the lakes still frozen for the most part. Zoom in on Lake Haiyaha in RMNP if you want to see some cool ice formations! Oh, and look at the label for Bear Lake... uhh, just a little off

Very cool. Bear lake...umm, yeah...seems to be off by just a scoche. Now we know how those canyoneering guys in Utah ended up in the wrong canyon....

There's a snow line just north of Long's Peak.

And of course, the ever-popular "Gllcier" Falls near Loch Vale and Mills Lake. I'm glad they're updating, but I wish they'd do this stuff only with summer images.

Find Crater Lake near Lone Eagle Peak in the Indian Peaks. What are those weird lines on the lake ice? Could they be snowmobile tracks? In a wilderness area? Or some natural phenomenon?

I have that one bookmarked too, Todd. Could they be ice fractures that caused uneven melting of recent snow?
