Guillemot encounter
Nearly fell off the cliff taking this. Can anyone tell me about the white line behind the eye? It seemed to be the only one that had this.

Cracking shot Tom. If you had asked me an hour ago I would not have had a clue, but Javier has just posted one - it is a Bridled Guillemot. Think everything works very nicely together here - great bird, lovely dark background and the rock is pleasing - though I might clean up some of the poo.

What a fantastic stripe - proof that God was originally a graphic designer!

Nice shot. Lovely birds.

There are two diffuse blotches to the left of the birds body (one light t'other dark) - sensor dust?

Cheers

Bits of dandelion fluff / seed on the original actually. I should have checked.

A good shot of this striking species.

That dark blue coloured water makes an excellent backdrop and really shows off the white markings on the head to good effect.
