Sugar Hill Lupine
Here is a shot from yesterday's trip to Sugar Hill, NH with Michelle. Gray skies forced us to try and keep the sky out of our compositions. The skies did clear, but unfortunately we were well on our way home by then. A strong breeze kept things frustrating as well! I don't think the Sampler field is going to have a strong bloom this year. The blooms are very sparse there.

This shot was taken in the field by the church, right off Route 117.

I like your comp, especially how the tree limbs are arcing over the lupines almost like an umbrella. The white patches of sky showing through the leaves are pulling my eye to the top of the frame and away from the flowers. I did a screen crop down from the top to just below the bottom hot spot and I like it a lot. Color and exposure are great also. I'm planning to venture over there on Thurs. and will let you know how I do. I hope to see more from your shoot!

Hi Kurt,

I liked your idea, and tried a square crop. I do like it much better! Thanks and good luck on Thursday.

Nice, that really makes it. Now the lupines pop without competing with the hot spots.

Very good eye! Great color saturation. We were also there over the weeknd, see the other lupine post for a macro shot and a flower field image. Lisa
