Tumwater Canyon, HDR
This is a 3 exposure image that I used "merge to HDR" in CS2. I shot it up by Leavenworth Wa. by my Mom's house. Hope you like it.

Beautiful scene and looks fairly normal to my eyes - the shadows of the trees are a bit lighter than they would probably look in real life but I'm impressed with the sky, the FG and the fact there isn't much of a halo around anything.... Pretty impressive HDR in my experience. Well done !

Curious how far over and under were your exposures?

Finally. Someone shows me an HDR example I like!

Thanks!

Wow, that's a completely different look than the river had when we were there in May. At that time, the rapid melt from the unseasonably warm temperatures had the river roaring and in places within a couple feet of the highway. It's hard for my mind to wrap around the difference

Nice work on the blend.

I think I'd bring up the red saturation or selecitvely saturate just a bit to emphasize the illumination on the cliffs. Wonerful sky and foreground! One of the best HDR's I've seen so far.

uh, what the heck is HDR... from the context here, i'd guess it was high dynamic range??? a way of combining images taken at various exposures to get like 20 stops of latitude? is this something new to CS2?

hey Voninski, what are you doing over here?

Scott,

I needed to see some preciptation so I decided to keep my eye out here. No really I am just planning a trip out here in August and have been getting some help.

When are you heading our way?

Jeremy, very nice image. I agree with John about the shadows of the trees. They look odd to me as well. Especially the 3 or 4 that extend higher into the bight area of the mountain, they are darker at the top where they are above the other trees.
