One of the very few satisfactory images from Malheur.

It's a decent shot, but I must ask - why so few satisfactory shots from Malheur? What would you describe as being the primary challenges involved in photographing the place? It seems just loaded with all varieties of wildlife through my experiences there, though I'm not a wildlife photographer.

Marc, there are plenty of birds and wildlife in Malheur. Tthat was not the issue. The problem was with my technique. I was using a digital body for the first time on a 400 mm non IS lens and most of the shots were handhed. That was probably my biggest mistake and I ended up with a ton of soft images. Also majority of the photos were taken from my car, and I didn't use a car window mount or a bean bag :(. So there goes all the blunders one can commit in wildlife phtography.
