Female Eider Duck
SD10, Sigma 500mm, F8,1/800s,ISO 400.
Spent a pleasent two hours on the rocks moving closer and eventually they just ignored me.

I like this scene, they impress with their hardiness, good light and peaceful pose.

Hi Steve,

I saw Eiders on the sea for the first time this year. What a wonderful bird! You've done well to get this close. I think I might prefer it if she'd lifted her bill for you, but this pose does give it a certain serenity!! :smile:

Nice pose but would have liked the image more from the side than from the back.
