Took this today at Cotswold Water Park, most were blue & some were brown. This fella was an odd one & on close inspection after I took its photo it had a smile on its face like a cheshire cat lol.

Very nice image -compostitionally excellent-havent seen one this colour before,Perfect DOF and sharpness-some excellent macro work on this forum at the moment
Oh gee another one gets the close up bug , looks to be a teneral common blue, has almost reached full colouration... and a classic shot, for my taste I would like a touch more room on the left for the insect to look into.... and it may be my tired old eyes but there does appear to be a tiny amount of camera shake, fraid I am married to a tripod for this sort of work....
Looks like we are going to have to work harder Tim.......

A cracking result Vince and all the more so considering it was handheld.
Well done on keeping the whole of the damselfly within the depth of field area.

I reckon it's a common blue but then I'm a novice. Finely taken of course.

Tim I think its an uncommon grey, there again I am a Nikon user with beard & sandals awaiting the D2X upgrade.
Another shot up to your usual high standards
Sharpness and dof is fantastic, especially handheld!
Barrie
