Old Shed - Take 2
Ok, I went back and got more shots of this great old shed in Brooks. I tried to incorporate all the great suggestions you guys kindly gave with the first, 6-04-06 post.
This is what I came up with - and all thoughts and criticisms are solicited, please.
I'm not sure I like the amount of roof and grass in front - I think I preferred the (first) close-up shot of just the wood and plants.

F22, 1/30th, tripod, levels, sharpened, crop 4 sides

This looks very good, Sandy. The flowers are positioned as to not detract from the details of the barn. I'd maybe suggest a crop from the top to just below the triangle of tree at the URHC.

Very nice Sandy. It's an interesting study of how the building went to crap and the flowers kept on growing

My personal preference though is the minimalist comp you posted originally...

Beautiful garden photography. I've always wanted to do more of that myself. This is a nice subject to work with, perhaps throughout the summer. I agree with the cropping suggestion.

Sandy,

I like your choice of subject matter a lot. If you can get the owner's permission, I'm sure there are tons of different angles to play with here. I like the contrast between the soft flowers and the harsh wood.

I think I like the tighter comp better; this leaves less to the imagination.

I don't think there's too much grass in the FG.

I'm not sure what you're doing to process these, but you might want to tone down the blue to keep some detail in the flowers (irises?). That foxglove is a pretty strong vertical; you might think about cropping from the right rather than the top to prevent it from being so centered.

I hope this is the kind of feedback you're looking for.

Sandy,
I agree with the tighter crop idea. Take some off the top and the right. Your on the right track!

I like a squarish crop on this. It was sure a nice find! It's still a real eyecatcher, but I think I still like the closer shot you posted previously just a tad better.

Yup, I like it, yup to the crop on the upper right, yup to too much grass. Still though, you'll be left with a real nice photo.
