Hi everyone. I am from the RMNP forum, but need your input. I will be in Austin (TX) during the first week in July. Can someone suggest a few places that I should visit for good photo opportunities. I am mostly interested in nature photography. I will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
I'm not all that familiar with the Austin area, but I have seen a number of sunset photos of the large bat colony flights from under one of the downtown bridges and just southwest of Austin is the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. There are several parks with lakes to the west of Austin as well.
Here is a website for Texas photographers that has a section on photo locations and includes one for the Austin area:

Hope this is of use.

National Wildlife magazine just mentioned the "bat bridge" in their last publication. I don't have any tips for Austin photography but there must be some beautiful locations in the area. From what I hear of Austin there may be many beautiful places to shoot inside the city limits. Have a great trip and good shooting!
