Yesterday, Scott B, my buddy Tom & I went up Argentine Pass. Great time. Only casualty was driving up a river that we thought was the road and bashing in the running boards on the Bronco. This is a detail shot from the Santiago Mine almost at the top of the pass. I love the 4x5 but the 5D plinker is starting to grow on me a bit .

Man, you do old buildings and detail shots like nobody's business! That's great stuff. I've shot those mine buildings before, but did I ever even THINK about looking to see what's inside?
I just got my first GPS unit. So I've been playing more with that toy than working images. I've been working on geo-tagging the EXIF data of digital images so they can be used in various map applications. If you have Google Earth installed (And why wouldn't you? It's FREE! ), you can click here and open the .kmz file I created with locations and images from our trip Saturday. It displays the locations, but not the path we followed because I messed up and deleted some data.
You'll be seeing more of these from me.
(Edit) The other thing I'm working on is how to best display multiple images from the same location. Right now you have to zoom in pretty close to be able to click on the individual icons...
Todd, Coming from a MASTER like you that is quite a compliment! I love shooting this stuff must be cause since I was a little boy I would be fixing/using the bulldozers and tractors with my grandfather.
I am starting to really get blown away by what I can accomplish with this little piece of electrical enginnerig (my 5d). Check out this Pano i easily created and blended without effort in Photoshop. I havent been able to use photomerge up to this point since I was trying to merge >250MB files and my memory would choke out. This is the Santiago mine.
