Cormorant lift off
20D, 400/2.8 + 2x, ISO400, 1/500 @ f11, EV -1/3, Gitzo 500 + 393, RSP + CS2.

Hi,

One from a burst of 5 shots before I fell of the end of the seat whilst panning, was waiting for another subject when this cormorant decided to take off in front of me and gave me a frame filling sequence......

All the best

Not my favorite bird by a long way but a well caught exmaple of it,In a perfect world the water behind it would be calmer but as we all know its not a perfect world, well caught and presented :toast:

Good sharp head on the flying oil slick, they're more timid the ones up here no chance of a full frame jobby.
Nice one

Hi Phil,

Nice one of "the flying oil slick (LOL)". Not a much loved bird in these parts but well caught.

I like the shot a lot, good colours, feather detail and the slight blurr at the wing tips looks very effective.
