Inge and I spent a foggy camping trip up at Deer Park in the northern part of Olympic National Park last weekend. The lupine and paintbrush aren't really there yet but there were a few early blooms. The phlox was in full force though.

The deer and the bunnies were pretty thick. Inge caught a grouse hen and her chicks in a field.

This is a pretty tight crop on a paintbrush I saw on the Slab Camp trail. I had some other flowers in the frame (really light phlox and some bluish/purple flower), but I really liked the dew on the paintbrush.

D2x, 200mm, .8s, f/14. Curves in Lab, strong crop.

Just thought I'd share.

Sean, quite interesting. I didn't know that Paintbrush had so many fine hairs. Almost looks like ice to me. Very pretty pastel reds!
