Well, I bought a used Sigma 50-500 on Ebay for $690.00. It is used but the seller provided over 12 photo images, and they are a reputable camera outfit in Ohio. Thx for all your help. I will be offline for a couple of weeks, as we are moving out of state. Take Care and talk to you later... :wavey:

It's a solid choice, and I don't think you'll be unhappy. Even if you are, you can likely resell on eBay for about what you paid. That's the beauty of buying used!

I've had the Sigma 50 - 500 for about a year now and am very happy. It's not a low light lens, so you will need lots of light, but I'm sure you will very happy with it. I've used it for wildlife and surfing and been very happy considering the range and price.
