Wow, lovely shot, I am so envious. There is a kingfisher in the same area as the Buzzard I shot, I've only ever seen him twice though and he does NOT stay put more than a couple of moments! lol!
Ah there I see my problem with regards to these, it seems you sat on your butt for five hours for this, there's no way my patience module could cope, I can do a couple. Maybe as I get older and time goes faster then five will feel the same as two.
Fantastic result, no nits for me.
Hello Phil
Good to see you are still clicking and getting the usual excellent results.

Just love this Phil. It makes me realise just how big the bill is comparison to the rest of the body.
It looks very good even on my crappy works monitor, look forward to seeing it properly tonight.
Beautiful shot, Phil. Particularly like the hint of habitat in the background. The lichen on the perch is rather attractive, but would prefer it without the sawn-off perch!

Agree with others - great pic, shame about the perch.

12 repliesHi,
The follow up to the Cormorant... this is the subject I was waiting for.
Arrived on site at 7.30am, had one brief glimpse mid morning, then this young male turned up at around 1.30pm and performed for around 20 minutes.
All the best
