Another from my hare raising experience of 2 days ago. I tried to balance exposure and speed but still not fast enough with a little too much blur. I find it difficult to judge just what are the optimal settings for a situation such as this, chimping and histograms looked perfect. ISO was 400, I didn't want to go higher because of all the greens, speed was 400th but obviously not high enough, aperture was F8 as I needed plenty of depth for the 2 hares. I used a polariser to cut down the grass reflections, so maybe that wasn't such a good idea. 1D2 with 500IS & 1.4tc, vehicle hide. Just out of interest, I have put a bit more info on my web diary page about the hares, should anyone be want to know.
As always, I am grateful to have any of your critique/observations.
Best wishes
Phil
Great subject matter but I think you have already identified the problems. The image lacks critical sharpness as a result of movement - so yes I think the polariser was a mistake!

What an endearing shot...it is not so easy to get everything right in the heat of the moment. I feel for you!

A tighther crop would benefit this otherwise great action shot! Well done!
