Not one single cloud in the sky for the past 3 days.....normally I would be very happy about this but when you're out shooting senics, I really like some white fluffy clouds
at least the sunrise this morning and the sunset last night was good......
Haha, least its sort of cool there, I spent a couple days working my way through Nevada and Utah, I looked at the thermometer a couple of different days for highs of around 110, and 104 with about 14% humidity, Then I went to Colorado (on my way out to Illinois right now) and it was high 80's-90's, right now it says 100, but I think it's in the sun the way I'm parked, yesturday it was crazy hot, around 90 but felt just as bad as the 100+ in Utah...
Last night was kinda cool though, I wished I'd have been someplace dark instead of the well lit Anhaeuser-Busch Yard (too many lights) a pretty good sized lightning storm rolled though, of course I was dead dog tired too which didn't help... had a few bright sky to ground strikes, but most were the kind that stay in the clouds, very little thunder, only a couple claps... Bet it would have made for some nice shooting... We got clouds today though :)
I agree...your shots are very limited with cloudless skies, but still possible. Dusk shots of the city, and silhouettes are nice to shoot just after the sun goes down. I've got some gradient blue, although oversaturated images that actually work quite well with a cloudless sky.
There's also shooting images without sky, with that sweet light during the last 30 minutes of sun...

hot I can deal with....my house is set at 65 degrees and my beer fridge is set at 42......a perfect combo for dealing with 90+ degree heat....
but the clouds...I have no control over them......but I sure wish I did!!! It would make my photography much much easier....

It was only 94 in Vernonia yesterday. Saturday Marie and I escaped to Cannon Beach with our granddaughter. I got some sunset shots, but they were a little flat without any clouds and they all have lens flare. I gotta by a prime lens for sunsets. :(
Speaking of lens flare, one of the guys at Pro Photo told me that digital lenses have additional coatings to reduce reflections off the filter in front of the sensor. Have any of you noticed an improvement when shooting with high-quality digital lenses vs their 35mm equivalents?
The perfect time to go out and experiment taking intimates and abstracts. Get creative. Get out of the perfect sunrise/sunset beautiful color full of clouds image box. My goodness. You have digital. Don't cost you a thing.
Almost better than sitting around pissing and moaning about the weather.
You have your house set to 62! How the heck do you keep it so cold? I'd have to wear a sweater if it were that cold. Don't go outside, the temperature differential will probably kill you!
