British Columbia or Alberta - Getting Photos Printed

I've been having no luck 'googling' places to get prints made up in British Columbia or Alberta. I know a few of you in here are from Western Canada & would like a few suggestions on where to get my digital photos printed. I know some of you have your own professional printers at home but that is not an option for me at this point. I'd like a place that does the 3 main sizes - 5x7, 8x10 & 11x14. My budget isn't very big but I'd like to move a step above the Walmart quality of printing. I would like a place that would deliver the prints in a reasonable amount of time(because I live in a small town) and that has recommendable customer service.

Suggestions please & thank you! :wavey:

I don't see why any the major labs down in the States couldn't serve you in a timely manner. But then again, Canada is a foreign country.

I been using Nova Photo Centre in Calgary for my prints - http://www.novacanada.com/
I'm no pro but I've been satisfied with their quality.

If you havea a Costco membership, I highly recommend their services for inexpensive yet good quality prints. All of the individual machines used at the different Costco locations have been profiled and their ICC profiles are available for download at www.drycreekphoto.com. Converting your prints in Photoshop to the profile for the machine at your Costco location will get you the best prints you can get from a non-pro lab at great prices.

I always include an instruction to make no adjustments and the technicians are pretty good at following that direction at the store I use in Edmonton.

Best regards,

Paul

Becky, I'm from Salmon Arm, a couple hundred KM up north from you. Up until I got my own printer, I used to use the following lab in Vancouver to get my prints done:

http://www.abcphoto.com

You can open up an account with them and they charge your credit card. I believe you can submit your digital images electronically. They will ship via greyhound for quite reasonable cost and 1 day shipping. I still get my film developed there and have had not problems. Give them a try...I think you'll like the results.

regards,

Harry

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Paul, I wish I lived closer to Costco but the nearest one is a two hour drive (depending on bridge traffic) and they ship everything BUT photos from their stores.:frown:

I'm definitely going to try Nova, Tom. Sounds quite reasonable. Thanks for the link.

Hey Harry, I lived in Salmon Arm in '98. Beautiful town! I'm going to give abc a try also (send each of them a sample to print and compare) Thanks for the link also! At least I know Greyhound comes to Osoyoos!!

Again, thanks you guys for the advice. Good to know from people who have experience!

Cheers!

Becky,

I do most of my own printing now, but before I started that I had many of my prints done by Custom Color Pro Labs in Vancover

Sometimes I use Camera Expert (I think they call themselves Camera Experence now) on Bernard Avenue in Kelowna. They have some good technicians there.

Hi Becky,

I visit Alberta and British Columbia every now and then to work on a freelance photo project, and have had good experiences with Vistek in Calgary. It is a professional lab, that can handle practically everything you throw at them. Prices for professional prints may be higher than the standard labs, but the quality is certainly better and they will print your file the way you want it instead of using the auto-pilot on their machines.

Becky,
I can do them for you, at least up to 24 inches wide, and I can do canvas prints too. I like Art says would recomend Vistek in Calgary.
