This is a shot from Ruby Beach last March. Just fooling around with Lab and thought I'd share.

I really haven't done that much to it, but Lab seems pretty touchy. Does it look overprocessed?

D2x, 28-70@57mm, 4s, F/22, 3 stop hard GND, Curves in Lab, sharpening in L-channel.

Thanks for looking,
Sean

I wasn't there

These are nice muted colors and I like the composition. Doesn't look overdone to me.

This is very calming to look at Sean. I also like the muted colors. It doesn't look overprocessed to my eye except for perhaps a very tiny hint of a sharpening halo along the outline of the rock.

I might be inclined to crop away about half the water at bottom as it seems like too much expanse of water if there's not some feature (such as a rock in the water) to anchor it at bottom.

I like the composition and colors but the sea stack seems too dark (black) in relation to the rest of the scene; the cliff face behind it has detail and is in the same light so l would think the sea stack should have some detail also???

Sean,
I would agree that the colors are great and realistic, I think the seastack should have some more detail and I am wondering if you blended to views of this same image if it might not bring out a bit more detail

It doesn't look over processed to me, Sean. I'm unsure of the comp though. I like seeing the detail in the foot of the sea stack and I don't mind it's darkness. There seems to be too much foreground though. I'm looking for a graphic but it's not falling together for me.

I also think you can loose some of the foreground. For some reason I'm not a big fan of these type of images with the slow shutter speed and the water feeding back into the ocean. The rest of the image is nice. Lab is pretty awesome. Looks like you processed it the right amount.

even though tis not too saturated.....the foreground water does it for me....very very nice....maybe a high contrast black and white
