That's one way of taking away the competition!

Maybe they have done this so they can build the technology into a PC version of Lightroom?!

Odd move.
Who'd have thought that Adobe would be interested in buying into technology that ignores Macs

Just hope they don't pull the plug on RS.....

Neat move Adobe. Got there before Apple did.

Clive - RSE/P will be pulled - no more updates.

John - The mathematical algorithms don't really care if it's a Mac or a PC, the "intellectual ideas" will be cherry picked and amalgamated into all versions of Lightroom.

Gavin - Lightroom will already be well down the development track if they are nearly ready to release a PC based Beta. The ideas from RSE/P will be swallowed and used in future versions, but not necessarily the first.

Larry - Definitely a good way to protect your market. Don't expect lightroom to be as cheap as RSE/P though. Probably won't be much price difference between Aperture, CaptureOne and Lightroom.

In which case I think I will stick with BreezeBrowser and/or DPP which is now finally a decent RAW converter.

cheers

Nick,

The Adobe press release says that they are going to integrate into Lightroom.

Lightroom is probably another 6 months from full release, this should give them enough time to complete any integration.
