Sedge Warbler
Taken at Cley Marshes, Norfolk in April this year.

I know the DOF isn't great as the tail is soft, but I am interested in compositional critique. I don't know whether it's worth keeping the foliage or cloning out? And even the twig coming off the main perch?

I've kept them in as I find it more pleasing as the colour of the sky isn't that great.

Opinions greatfully received

Graeme

techs weren't that great, in fact, signs of a novice

I think its a nice composition, i dont mind that the tail is a bit soft. What i would clone out is the oof foliage and the bit of the twig that sticks out. My eyes are drawn to them al the time! Nevertheless, its a nice image

Hi Graeme

I think this image would probably look better with some cloning out of the green foliage and the twig. Also to my eye a counter-clockwise rotation might help, my first instinctive reaction was the image looked a bit lopsided, which is probably just an illusion caused by the pose of the bird.

Good composition though.

cheers

Hi Greame
Yep I would lose the easy to clone foliage and maybe the twig, I like the over the shoulder pose, and the important bits are sharp.

Yep get rid of the foliage, twig and that dust spot  , agree that a touch of rotation may help the composition, the important bits are sharp but as you are aware you could have stopped down a touch more....
