Turtle dove and his reflection
This image was taken late afternoon in one of the 2 hides in Southern Hungary. For me the most beautiful euopean dove and not so easy to photograph.

Hi Rene

Your trip to Hungary certainly seems to have been worthwhile, you have posted some excellent images from your trip.

This is another super shot, although I am not sure the reflection is really helping much in this image. The reflection doesn't quite work for me, a bit too blurry. I prefer the shot if I crop off the bottom third of the image and have a squarer format with the dove more prominent in the frame. But thats just me, I am sure others will have differing opinions.

Great detail and colour. Never seen one myself let alone photographed one.

Thanks Sean for your comment. Its often a matter of taste i guess. I have just made a print for a customer and it does look very nice but i can see what you are saying!

Hi Rene

If the customer likes it then that is the best result :jump:

Rene,

I like this, the richness of colour is excellent and the detail in the birds breast very good - my only nit would be that I would have prefered a bit more room at the top of the frame.

Hi Rene

I agree with Sean on this one I like the shot but the relection lacks a bit of detail, but if you have a customer that likes it then that's all that matters.

Nice one :toast:

Hello Rene

I think this is an awesome shot, I am sorry but I can,t see where the problem is with the reflection for me it adds that final piece. I am sometimes gobsmacked at some of the nits but I supose that is down to personnal taste. Great shot one of the best I have seen posted.

Hello Rene

I like it. I like the reflection (would probably crop a little off the bottom of the image).

Also looks nice and sharp to me.

The Turtle sure is attractive Rene. And if it pleases the customer what more can you ask?

Superb Rene - I have them nesting in the garden and hear them all the time, rarely see more than a distant view though... :frown: - so I appreciate your skill in obtaining this wonderful image. :toast:

Love it, agree that more space atop and less at the bottom would be preferable, apart from that minor nit it is superb..

Hello Rene
That blend of colours couldn't be more enjoyable if you tried. I like this image just as is, superb.
Best wishes

Another very good shot, although I agree it looks a little unbalanced which is easily rectified.

The lovely soft subtle light has really helped bring out the colours in this stunning bird
