I thought the dwindling sunshine might produce a nice color display this evening. In a continuing search to find different places to shoot sunsets without lengthy travel, I ended up in cow country (moo). The great color never did materialize.

I've noticed that sunrises and sunsets don't seem to be as colorful in the summer as they are in the fall and winter. I was out Sunday and had some good clouds, as you have here, but never got the intense orange color I see in the winter. After doing a little research, I found that much of this "phenomenon" has to do with haze and atmospheric pollutants, along with sluggish air during the summer. If you want the whole scoop, there's an excellent discussion here.
I have noticed the same conditions between winter and summer sunsets. Something else is in the summer there might be some great clouds about sunset, but disappear just as the lighting and colors are getting good. Tim, I like the colors in this sunset, nicely done!

Nice rich color Tim. The sunbeams add a nice touch.
Finding a great landscape for sunrise/sunset images near home can be tough. The farm pond I captured for my pond series met most of the qualities that one looks for in a landscape but still left something to be desired. Hope you find what you're looking for Tim! Thanks for sharing.
