Crab Spider
Crab Spider, Misumena vatia, female. Ranscombe farm, Kent, UK.
20D, 180/3.5 macro, ISO200, 1/30 @ f8, MLU + remote, Benbo + BH1, RSP + CS2

Hi,

Not really been doing a lot of serious close up work so far this year, went for a wander around one of our local sites famous for wild flowers and was pleased to find this little lady.

Very hard to spot, they hang around on flower heads waiting for prey and usually coloured very similar to the host plant.

All the best

I like the colours and how the spiders minute eyes are captivating.

Technically spot on and a lovely composition to boot. Superb example of camouflage. :toast:

Great composition and the soft light and BG make this a very pleasing image!

I think I have never seen a white Spider before, that macro-stuff really show something you normally don't notice. Great accomplishment, Phil :toast:

Hi Phil
Very nice shot, I've seen these put out a single tread of web and sail off in the wind.
