In honor of the Hubble (telescope/camera/spaceship) I have created a slideshow consisting primarily of NASA's captures by Hubble.
Hubble orbits the Earth at an altitude of 375 miles once each 95 minutes. To date Hubble has traveled in excess of 3 billion miles sending around 15 gigabytes of data daily to our scientists.
Some of Hubble's images are truly incredible. With minimal light pollution the captures reveal the grandeur of our universe. In jest I named the slideshow Vger 2. Some of you old Trekkie's may remember a Star Trek episode where beings from far in the future found Voyager drifting in space still transmitting signals from its nuclear power source. Space debris had eroded the paint obliterating the "oya" leaving only V GER so they named it Vger. Voyager I and II were launched by NASA in 1987 with the mission of first exploring our own planetary solar system then probing deep space.
At any rate this slideshow contains some of what I believe to be incredible images gathered primarily by Hubble. It's a Windows executable of around 35 megabytes so broadband is suggested for download.
Here's the link to the zipped executable AV slideshow...

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's strictly non-commercial for fun and to display the NASA Hubble images. The music selection is all from freeplay.com. The selections were as follows:
1. Saturn Winds - Todd Habermann Volume 2
2, The Wall - World Mix Volume 15
3. Red Sky - World Mix Volume 3
4. Under - World Mix Volume 3
5. From the Heavens - Drama Volume 6
Yes - with Beta 3. Only fade in fade out and circle fade are presently actuated. All transitions will be available in the Version 5 release but the product is still in test and many of the great features which will be working in the release version are not yet incorporated.
Glad you enjoyed it - Hubble has sent some really incredible shots back - makes one feel insignificant.in the scope of the universe doesn't it!
HST naysayers - you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink - LOL. Not a lot to be gained by pushing - rather let them learn by example I think...
There was an early episode that featured V(oya)ger, with Captain Kirk as Vger's 'creator'. If I remember correctly, that first contact with Vger was mentioned in the feature film.
Yes, the actual term "VGer" indeed came from the first of the set of StarTrek feature movies. I frequently refer to them as "episodes" in the continuing story but the term episode is more commonly used in reference to the television series. I suppose I should be more clear - LOL. As I recall (it's been a while) Voyager 6 was discovered by a "mechanical race" which "fixed" assumed problems and sent it back toward Earth looking for it's "creator" which was supposedly Captain Kirk. In route it was quite destructive.
Those Hubble photos are really something for sure! It tends to put our little solar system into perspective and remind us that we are undoubtedly not alone in this universe...... I do wish some major motion picture production would be made using the Hubble photos, it could definitely help pressure the powers that be to keep Hubble in orbit and maintained so it can keep sending us all that valuable data and beautiful images...

Your efforts on this were outstanding! I am, quite honestly, blown away! The images are stunning and your production is wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
You might consider sending copies of your production to all the HST naysayers, if you haven't already. It just might open some eyes!

I'm speachless. I've always been awestruck at the vastness of the universe, and Lin - you've captured it well in your slideshow.
When's the Imax 3-D version to be released???
