Common as Muck #2
20D, 400/2.8, ISO400, 1/1000 @ f4.5, EV -1/3, Gitzo 500 + 393, RSP + CS2.

Hi,

Finally finished a commitment to carry out a couple of workshops, have been asked to organise more, (guess I will have to start charging more  )

Sent the participants out on a challenge for the exposure part, which was to go and get a good image of a Coot, which IMO is a great test of exposure skills.

Of course I joined in as well and this is one of my efforts....

All the best

Phil - love the image nice and well exposed. Really love the full reflection.

Don't think I'll come on your workshops though - your challenges look to be too difficult

Lovely image - reflection and composition are what make it stand out from most other coot images I've seen (and indeed taken!).

You've just got to love those feet!

Cheers

Hi Phil,

I agree with Mark that the composition and reflection makes this stand out from many many Coot images I've seen (and taken!) as well!!

Superb :toast: :toast:

Lovely light and pose.
As for the challenge, would it not have been more of a test to shoot it in jpeg? That way small exposure tweaks in RAW conversion software would be eliminated.

Hi Phil, I think you passed the test with honours - very pleasing Coot-photo, with exposure dead on :toast: :toast:

Hi Phil,

Maybe a common species but the shot is a cut above the rest. :toast:
