Badger 'cub' 2
This cub decided to 'pose' by one of the entrances to it's set and although the light was fading and I had to use a high iso and low shutter speed I was pleased with the image.

Very good shot.
I've not yet reached the point of being interested enough in badgers to endure the midges to watch the big set on our esteate here. The recent shots being posted on this forum are kindling an interest, maybe a late autumn project.

ISO 800? With modern dslr's this isn't really high ISO, more like ISO400 film

Yep, lovely soft lighting and the ISO hasn't made any noticeable difference for me.
Comp not quite there for me - maybe less space off right and get rid of the OOF foreground grass with the crop? just a suggestion

Excellent shot Dave, maybe clone the oof veg in the foreground? Other than that, awesome under the circumstances. Is there much noise in the original at that ISO? My D2X would have certainly put a few 'golf balls' in the darker areas. BTW did you hear the one about a man, a badger and a mobile phone! I can't take that bloke anywhere

Hi John

Yes - one of the first to hear it  Yes re the OOF FG might help the image. Re the noise, this was the first time I had used it at 800iso and I am very impressed - in the dark areas you can see noise at 100% but you can at 200iso. My guess is that it will show a lot more if you had to interpolate the image.

Mark re the composition, I feel this is OK as the space to the right is one of the set entrances and IMO helps to make the image!

Hello David

Great shot and I like the comp, for me would leave it as is.
