Well what do you expect, having a 200-400mm pointing at you in the bath is somewhat unexpected.
Great shot, love the way there's no horizon, very pretty.

So you went all the way to Hungary to shoot a bathing Blackbird, Rene  Actually it's a great photo with the uniform BG and the near perfect reflection! :toast:

Beautiful shot of a very common species, especially when my pears are ripening :frown: .
Well done.

Simply great photo of a simple blackbird Rene.

The BG and water merge into one and the bird is tack sharp.

nice simple shot - like the colours and the eye contact - only thing I think could imrpove would be if the bird was doing the same pose but facing you, although this might change the mood of the shot. Maybe there's a 'flip bird' tool hidden somewhere in PS2...

Hello Rene
This just proves that you don't need an exotic subject to make a superb photograph.
Best wishes

It's a very nice image....
but something doesn't look right to me.

I first thought this was an atmospheric misty shot but looking more closely i see the bird is in full sun (the sun is behind you). There's random lens flare halos within the mist and there's no horizon between the water and background (only mist would do this). Is that rising mist behind the bird or a big clone job? The reflection doesn't quite match the background.... I now suspect you posted this to test if anyone would notice!

David, a rather strange comment from you...sorry. This is no Photoshop job, its full frame and the hide i was working in was dug out so i was almost level with the water, hence no background which consists out of shrubs, trees and dew.

If i would have manipulated the image, i would have said so.

Hi Rene

I like this shot, a great composition with an excellent reflection, good pose and also great detail in the black feathers. Well done, a perfect demonstration that even the most common subjects can be photographed in new and original ways. :toast:

cheers
