Like fairy falls only 250 feet high and 100 feet accross! The water displaces so much air as it falls there is a constant wind and blowing mist at the spot the second image was taken. It's really hard to shoot almost any perspective at these falls so come prepared with lots of lens cloths!
I spent over an hour there taking the spray blasts and blended small peices of four or five images to come away with a final image that was very sharp throughout and free of lens spots! Not the most fun I've ever had shooting, but it's a shot I've been working on for many years.
As for the first image, there was a log blocking a lot of these cascades that had been there for years and is finally gone! I got a few new perspectives on it this spring. Now, if only that log at Punch Bowl would do the same thing......
I'm really diggin both of em...really. I never thought of blending different pieces of an image to work around the whole lens splash thing. Good thinking. From the water flow, this looks like it was taken sometime in September?
No, just a last week actually Rick. This is going pretty good for Proxy but the moss had dried just a bit below the falls. The blends were more for wind-blown foliage than waterspots, but some of both. The final full-res looks really good but it was too much work IMO.

Very sweet stuff.. thanks for sharing them with us, Marc..
I dig the second one. If I had taken/blended this shot I'd have probably cropped and taken out the portions of sky at the top. But every photographer has his/her own perspective. Another winning shot Marc
Someone needs to invent the photographers ladder. Allows you to get 8 feet higher in the air and has a solid IS tripod mount on the top. I like #2 but would like it more if you were level somehow with the fals, Marc. Just a bit too much tilt for me.

Maybe time for that 24mm TS lens
