A very good capture, Darren! I would like to hear from you the technique you used to capture this...

Well first I would have had the neighbor move thier truck, then crop the top 1/3, right half, bottom 1/8th, left 1/64th, exposed for 10minutes longer, used ND filters, tighter framing...

Oh, ok, just joking... :jump:

Actually this turned out nice IMHO, I like it just fine, don't think I could come up with a critique if I tried, other than the pickup would be my only thing, but hey thats not controlable... it's a great shot, a keeper IMO, nice to see lightning seen up close and personal so to speak... most the time shots are of over the city skyline, etc... not offten I see them in an home setting, not that look this nice anyways... my first and only attempt was out my bedroom window, the lightning was purplish, and went sideways across the sky, but I had a tree in the way, and a fire department training tower accross the street, was a cool shot, but lacked intrest really, other than all the branches of the strike... yours has a lot of interest to me....

Awesome for a first

Excellent shots Darren! Love the combo of lightning & fireworks. I am just across the WA-BC border & we were sittin on our roof watching lightning to the south when Oroville WA started up their fireworks display. We figured Nature was putting on a better show but I imagined a photo combining the two would look really cool! Thanks for capturing my thoughts on this one. I have yet to try a time delayed shot like this! Great way to show how its done!!
