Well someone has to start. First try at fireworks. Five hundred yards from barge on columbia in Washougal.Manual mode, ISO-100, 28-80mm lens, Bulb aprox 1 to 3 sec. f-18 to f-22. Think I will add a ND filter next time as the brightest flashes were overexposed. That is the moon in the upperleft center. Maybe I should remove it.
WOW, you guys are doing awesome shots for first attempts, I love the streak from the barge, not sure about the moon, I'm not big on "altering" images such as removals, etc... but it might help... looks like there might have been some flare or something just to the left side of the bursts, or is that perhaps a smoke cloud or something? Dosen't hurt either way IMO....
One of these years I will actually get around to trying this out myself... They were shooting them off in Sidney, NE (Cabellas Big store, possibly world headquarters) while I was there overnight (on the 3rd of all days??? ) but I was a bit tired, and lazy to dig out the camera, too bad too, as I had a pretty good vantage point with the lights of the city in the distance...
