Clear those browser memories - the July editon is now online!

We decided to do something a little different with our July cover photo. There has always been some debate as to whether a nature photo with hand-of-man included can still be considered a "nature photo." While there are still differing opinions on this issue, Jeremy Cram's photo certainly shows the effect of nature on man-made objects. This beautifully crafted photo won the EP a while back and can be viewed in the EP Gallery here.

Inside that terrific cover shot are some articles very much worth your time to read. Guy Tal serves up the next installment in his Essential Landscape series For All the Wildness - On Angry Men and Pretty Pictures. We have all admired Guy's photography for quite some time, so I guess it comes as no surprise that his writing has become as good as it is.

Of interest to bird photographers, NPN member Kevin Thompson offers some tips on "getting the shot" by learning to recognize the sound and song of our avian friends in his article Bird Photography - Using Song to Identify the Subject. Also included are links to some useful resources on learning bird song by species.

NPN member Glenn Bartley submitted a wonderful photo itinerary article on perhaps one of the most wonderful places to enjoy nature photography. Be sure to check out Photo Itinerary - Making the Most of Costa Rica - and start saving your belly button lint for a trip there!

Finally, Paul W. Faust is back with another pile of As and nature photography book reviews. Of special note are reviews of books by NPN contributing editors Niall Benvie and Darwin Wiggett. I'm sure glad Paul saved some +s for those two!

So pull up a chair and check it out. We hope you enjoy this latest edition! And BTW, while you're at it, be sure to check out the lastest issue of Travel Photographers too. As always, a fantastic job by Jim White and crew!

Thanks for giving me the thumbs up on sending this one in Cindy; I do appreciate your helpful input. Also a big thanks to Jim ( or the better half. ) for polishing this one up. A big congrats to Guy, Glenn, and Paul on a very interesting read and a fantastic cover shot by Jeremy as well.
