I just got back from a few days in Zion with my sister and am starting to look at the images. We had LOTS of rain on this trip. Tried to get up the narrows and very quickly the churned up water was up to my waist and was about to go higher if I went any further (for those who don't know I am 6'4").
Cedar Breaks is similar to Bryce Canyon but has a lot more color and is much smaller. For the next couple of weeks they are celebrating their wildflower season. These are a couple of pictures from Cedar Breaks.
(I still love shooting my LF and have sheets over here waiting to get developed - but the Canon is growing on me These images are both with my Canon)
I didnt make it up there as my hiking boots were starting to gain about 15# of weight from the "claylike" mud on that trail and I wasnt sure if it was worthwhile.
Richie, I was hoping you had a good one from there
I got up there just after the good light - another one on the "need to go back in better light" list.

Nice shots Richie. I really like the second shot that you posted. Feel free to post more. What lens did you use? How many mm for the shot?
I am working on a few more flower shots and will show em soon. These were taken on the 5D with the Canon 100mm Macro lens. It is a really nice piece of glass. Not as solid feeling as the brute L Series stuff but really nice glass.
Give me a call if you want to go out shooting sometime and give it a workout. I am still going through all the pics (especially since I was out in Vegas shooting a wedding last weekend). You can see a few of the pics here Zion - Cedar Breaks - Vegas
Guy - Gotta get back up there again soon. This was my 2nd time up there and while Cedar Breaks is not as heavily travelled as Bryce the colors in it are much more vivid (IMHO). Too bad there arent any trails down into the canyon.
I'm still working on a bunch of stuff. Just got back the 4x5 Chromes from Brent D at Qube. Got a few nice pieces in there and will show em soon.
Nice work, Rich. I especially like the first shot. I was out this weekend as well with both the digital and the LF. Although it's a lot of money to have tied up in gear, I can't bring myself to part with either. Pulling out the LF for the first time in a while was very enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing some of your 4x5s.
