Looks good but I'll wait a while till the bugs are ironed out. I use Capture 4 BTW and think it's way better than Adobe RAW. I think Nikon cameras are pants but their software is awesome and I strongly recommend it.
John- First time I've heard someone complement Nikon's software so highly. Most people's opinions I've heard say their cameras are awesome and their software pants! I think NX comes from collaboration with Nik Software (no relation except in name) as Nikon felt their software was falling behind.
It may be better on Windows, but on the Mac any of the Nikon RAW conversion software (up until NX) is simply too slow to use.
I'll download NX and try it out. I am considering Aperture or Lightroom, as I cannot cope with the numbers of files I am creating without some form of database-driven organisation.
I hear that all the time and I suppose NC4 can be slow but that's down to the hardware. In terms of flexibility and control of the RAW file it (IMHO) beats Adobe RAW hands down. I push ALL my NEF files through capture 4 before cleaning/cloning etc in PSCS2. I also think the Nikon Viewer beats Bridge into a cocked hat, so much faster at thumbnailing and, of course, seamlessly fits in with Capture 4 unlike bridge/cs2.
The cameras on the other hand I think my D2X is rubbish. I've had all sorts of problems with it and I still am often disappointed with the quality of the files from it, especially when I see Tim Munsey's. Would like to try out mine and his side by side.
