I finally had a little time to work on some of the images from my trip. What do you think of this version?

Thanks,

Scott

I love it! I did a comparison to your earlier post - I see that you cropped a little and increased the contrast. I'm just curious, did you make any other adjustments?

Gary - I did two things - I straightened the horizon which requied a bit of a crop and I played with levels a bit. The brown and border were added to be placed in a photogallery in the website I am working on.

I tried to post this with the prior thread, but it failed. I am not sure why.
Previous Post in case you want to compare.

Very cool, Scott! I like this version better - the tonal quality is much improved, imo. The level horizon is a big improvement also.

It looks like you used fill flash, here? I might suggest burning in the brighter area of the foreground a little and seeing how that looks. Might just be me, but that part keeps pulling my eye away from the penguins.

Looks like an amazing place to have visited!

Very nice! The blacks look a lot richer. I agree about burning in part of the foreground.

I like the suggestion of burning the foreground on this photo and I will try it in the next couple of days. Actually, this photo did not have fill flash, there was the slightless amount of spot ligthing from a hole in the clouds.

I really need to finish the travelogue and finish the slide show . . . So little time, so many things to do!

Thanks for the suggestions!
