Went out to the pond in the garden and the resident Grassnake who has been living in the compost heap, Had caught a large Frog and was attempting to swallow it.
The Frog spread it’s legs wide apart and after ten minutes or so the snake had to give up and let it go a little bloody but otherwise ok.

Great action shot Gary.
Came across a Grass Snake last week sunning itself on a wooden bridge.
Dont quite know who was more surprised. I guess this fella was to busy thinking about eating to move.
A great behavioural shot, the eye of the frog is positioned just in the right place. Talk about staring death in the face! Excellent. Glad to read that the frog didn't croak (sorry).

It's all been said, excellent behavioural image, a bit surreal with the frog looking out of the snakes mouth.
cheers
