Weekly Image BWCAW Moose
This was taken in the Boundary Waters area of Minnesota last week. We entered in the Seagull lake area. We saw 14 moose on our trip. The most we have ever seen. We had a pack of wolves howling around the lake we camped on every night. Though we never seen them they were a great thrill to listen to. It was just a fantastic trip.

David, I never knew there were any moose in Minn. Guess one learns something new all the time. I like how the moose is positioned looking into the frame. The inclusion of the wildflowers. I would prefer for some better light, but we work with what we have.

Listening to wolves howl at night would really make me feel like I was in the wild, though a little nervous. Shame you didn't get to see any. I would find it just as much a thrill seeing a wolf as I do a bear.

I have never been to Minn. but wouldn't mind it someday. Feel free to share some more from this your trip.

Thanks for sharing

What a great trip! Actually, there are moose in areas of Upper Michigan and they occasionally wander into Northern Wisconsin every so often!

I like moose, and I'd like to spend some time taking pictures of them. This is a neat shot, he looks startled that you were sneaking up on him.

That's a pretty composition. And the blue flag iris add a nice splash of blue to the green.

There are moose all over the northern 1/4 of Minnesota, all the way west to the N.D border and into N.D. Right now, part of the area around Seagull, perhaps even near where this was taken, is in the middle of a 25,000 acre forest fire.

Nature at work being nature, turning green to black so the new green can be greener. If you have an interest in updates on this fire, and pictures, go to www.mnics.org.
