This is an image that I shot of a large buck in velvet at Lone Elk County Park. This image was cropped slightly from a larger image, and the levels were adjusted.
As stated previously, Lone Elk County Park is a park that is run by the St. Louis County Parks Department and encompasses 550 acres in a high fence environment. The park itself contains "free roam" bison and elk, along with whitetail deer and turkey that seem to come and go as they please (although many stay).
This buck is the biggest one I have seen to date at this location and I had the opportunity to photograph him throughout the year up until the rut where he mysteriously disappeared only to reappear this spring.
As usual, comments and suggestions on the image are always appreciated.

Very good detail on this one, Matt. You haven't left much room on the top border if you ever decide to frame this image, but other than that I have no nits. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful buck Matt. I like the pose of this one as much as your last, and the detail is very nice. Tim hit on the "tightness" already, a little more room at the top would have been nice. Thanks for posting!
Out of shear curiousity, and I am sure I am out of line since I am a newbie, but what the hell.
Would anyone be interested in hooking up this fall for a group weekend shoot at Lone Elk Park? Could be a lot of fun -- and for the wildlife guys in us, I haven't come across a better place. It could be timed right to see the bull elks in rut and bugling.

BTW, that's a nice buck Matt. I'll bet there'll be some people keeping an eye on him this fall...
