Hi Philip,

Love that pose

I feel that cloning out the dark bit behind the bird and also cropping to a fraction above the reflected beak would make this even better.

Nice work catching the action, but your processing seems to have produced a cyan cast across most of the image (though not between the birds legs for some reason) -- I'm assuming that this is workflow issue not an equipment issue.

If it's a case of trying to enhance the colour of the water, you might want to try using a layer mask to prevent the colour impinging on the subject.

Hi phil it's where I've selected the whites and the leggs with the lasso tool to take a little of the cyan/blue out of the selected area it was taken just before sunrise my Minolta colour metre was giving a reading around 4000 K. I set this to around 4500 and then adjusted the level slightly to make it a bit lighter. The second one should be better.

Phillip.

Like the pose.... would have liked a bit more room araound the bird with perhaps the full reflection, but I know you like your birds large in the frame so would probably trim of most of the reflection leaving just enough room for the virtual legs... a bit more of a head turn would of been nice though obviously the bird wasn't going to accomodate you...

As said - absolutely lovely pose, but a little strange in the colours. With optimal light this would have been a real "killer". :toast:

Hi Phillip

Love the pose but I'm with Helge on the light/colours!
