I dug up an old shot from back in 1996 that I took in Lower Antelope and posted it here in ES&S. I was thinking about how different it was back then. You only had to pay if someone was there, but they charged you based on the format you were using. They also charged extra if you used a tripod, as if you could get anything without one. I think it came out to about $40 to get in. But the nice thing was that no one was there.
That was on my first trip to the SW which was a 3 week grand tour. Another favorite memory was watching a rainbow at sunset from up on Muley Point. Ever since I returned I have been suffering from "Desert Fever." But if I knew then what I know now, I don't think I would have made it past Colorado.
Great image, John. Next time you're out here I can show you some slots you can have for yourself. I only charge $35 to enter (unless you're shooting film, then it's multiplied by the ISO rating)
Guy, how much extra per GB of flash memory??? Just out of curiosity, have you ever done Peach Canyon in AZ. A few years back I got directions and visited there. It had similar colors but lees of a sweeping feel as Antelope, mostly because it wasn't as deep.
