I just booked my campsite at Rainier in the Cougar Rock campground, and noticed that alot of the good sites are gone. I was able to find only one tent sites. If you are planning on going check into booking it now, if you haven't already.

I'm just a bit confused. When it says all of this:

NOT HIGH TRAFFIC AREA MAXIMUM MOTORHOME LENGTH 24 FT., MAXIMUM TRAILER LENGTH 0 FT., GENTLY SLOPED ASPHALT AND GRAVEL PARKING PAD 10X24. ONE TENT PAD 8X10

Does this mean that it will accomodate either a tent or a motorhome ? Just curious because none of the listings for the date I checked said anything about just being a car/tent site. Is that because they are taken up already ??

Never been to Rainier before so this is all new to me

Yes it will take both....go to the map of cougar and you'll see how the campground is laid out. The not high traffic area, I assume means it is not near the main road where cars come in and out of each loop area. The trailer thing means that the parking pad will accomodate a motorhome that long. And then in the actual site there is one tent pad however big and the rest of a typical campsite...ie, table, fire ring etc...

I am booked from 7/30 to 8/7. Hope to see some of you there.

I'm going to go a little later than that I think.....due to the snow still being there it's not going to hit prime until after the 10th, I've heard.....

I'll be in Rainier for the nights of 8/8 and 8/9 in cougar B31. If anyone needs a place to stay for the night, I have space... email me.

I'm in D11 the 5th~8th! Looks like we got some close groupings. It will be interesting to see the timing of the flowers.

There is a distant chance I might be able to make this trip but if I go, I certainly don't want to do the standard stuff around Paradise. I'd like to get off to some different places.

Mark,

Are you looking for suggestions? Did you have anything in mind?
