Just a quick note, this is less about art and more about fun, but I still like it. It was taken right as the first rays of sun hit the Islands.
This is the first stitched pano I've tried with the 5D, this is 6 vertical frames stitched in PSCS2. It's almost 60 megapixels, and weighs in at more than 1.5 gigabytes. The detail and clarity is enough to make a large format photographer jealous, and has wonderful digital noise free silky smooth tones.
It's not a really artistic image, and was never meant to be, this would have been too hard to pull off during sweet light, and I was looking to capture this scene in more natural light anyway since for some reason non photographers really like this type of light as it reminds them of when they were there and saw it I think. FYI it was still shot at 6:30 am, so the light was really not that bad.

Sinply beauty. I got similar shot but at that time I was using 10D so it is smaller. Beautiful light nevertheless. I actually like this more than your post wirh the red clouds in main forum.
Zack,
Very cool. I've always loved Sparks Lake. Ross Wordhouse has a rally nice image of this lake on his website. I guess he went back many times before he got the shot he was after.

Love it, I bet your HD space is going away fast.....

Hehe, luckily I have 3 terabytes of HD space, but 2.5 of those are full already.
Erik, I know trhe shot of Ross' you're talking about, Jeremy and I were lucky, this was our first trip there, and the conditioins were pretty ideal
